We’ve sat down with our amazing beauty supplier Seema-Bi to discuss natural beauty tips. Here are her top 5 Tips for Blushing Bridal Beauty!

1. HOW TO MAKE YOUR HAIR LONGER

Whilst coconut oil is the holy grail when it comes to beauty regimes (great for hair, skin, teeth, everything!) I personally found Jamaican Black Castor oil much more effective when it came to hair growth. Massage in to the scalp to stimulate hair growth, it works best with damp (not wet) hair and leave overnight. To spare your pillows and bedsheets being drenched in oil, go to sleep wearing a shower cap and wash hair as normal the following day. You can also use it on your eyelashes to naturally lengthen them and also on brows to give patchy ones that extra push to fill in faster.

Additional tip: when washing your hair use warm water to open the hair’s cuticle, this allows the shampoo and conditioner to do their job more thoroughly, rinse off with cold water to close the cuticle and seal in moisture from the conditioner, this will result in shinier, luscious looking locks.

2. HOW TO GET RID OF SPLIT ENDS

Mix together half a cup of olive oil with a quarter cup of honey and apply to the tips of your hair, leave overnight and watch your split ends magically disappear.

Additional tip: Stick to raw organic honey to really soak up all its amazing natural benefits and use warm the honey and oil mixture for a hot oil treatment.

3. HOW TO HAVE FLAWLESS SKIN

So many people neglect exfoliating their skin, not knowing how beneficial it is for them. Exfoliation removes dry and dead skin cells, it increases blood circulation which results in healthy, glowing and youthful skin. A simple mix of honey and sugar has instant results but restrict exfoliation to once a week if you have sensitive skin, twice a week if you have normal skin and 3 times for those with oily skin or blessed enough to live in warmer climates, as it is quite harsh on the skin.

Finely ground coffee beans (two tablespoons) mixed with honey (one teaspoon) applied on the face for 20 minutes reduces blemishes and improves skin tones. I like to use a lemon slice afterwards to wipe the mixture off my face first by rubbing it in to the skin and then wash the remainder off, I find this gives the skin a nice glow, or you can mix one tablespoon of lemon juice in with the honey and coffee.

Additional tip: Comment on the perfect planner Facebook post if you’d like to read a blog specifically dedicated to skin care.

4. HOW TO GET RID OF DARK CIRCLES

Finely ground coffee beans mixed with milk or olive oil until it forms a paste applied to the under eye area once a day helps promote healthy circulation and decreases inflammation resulting in brighter under eyes. Allow the mixture to dry on the eyes and then rinse off.

Additional tip: place two spoons in the fridge or freezer until they’re nice and cold and apply the cold spoons to your under eye area until the spoons are warm again, this causes the skin to tighten up and look more youthful.

5. HOW TO HAVE LUSCIOUS LIPS AND LIGHTEN THEM

Rub a cucumber on your lips for at least 5 minutes on a regular basis to lighten dark lips.

Lemon and sugar makes for a nice lip scrub too. Coat a thin sliced lemon with sugar and rub on your lips, the lemon bleaches the lips whilst the sugar works as an exfoliator.

Additional tip: drink plenty of water, you’ll be surprised how much effect being hydrated has, not just on your lips, but on your skin and your general health.
